About Us
Shearwater Sailing Club is a small club with a big heart, specializing in racing and other events with added community value, such as:
- Hosting races that are part of the annual racing schedule sanctioned by the Chesapeake Bay Yacht Racing Association and other, special-purpose races.
- Donating race proceeds to the hospices of the Hospice Cup.
- Regular and irregular social activities include our annual chili bowl cookoff where members, guests and other friends face off in competition, ostensibly just for a case of "gourmet" beer; the Parade of Lights party and the later Commodore's Banquet, to fight off the midwinter blues and look forward to the new year; a bargain crab feast; and various formal and informal raft-ups and cruises as the spirit moves us.
